...The Know How...
"The Know How" super rad ska from gainesville florida Dec 23 '00 (Updated Dec 24 '00) (sourced

With list of
cool bands they have played with a mile long The Know How are slowly gaining a large fanbase not only in the state of Florida
but elsewhere as they embark on a national tour in the winter of 2000. I was introduced to The Know How as part of the warped
tour I was there to watch some great bands but I did not expect to find a great band like them. The lead singer Skyler has
an amazing stage presence and has a great voice for the type of music. I cant stand when a ska singer has a voice like he
belongs to the backstreet boys.
But dont underestimate the rest of the band with onstage antics such as inflatable
toys, a stage diving dummy, supersokers, and about a million cans of silly string the band always keeps it interesting with
lots to see and do besides hear the great music.they are also super nice always willing to talk to fans if you get a chance
talk to them they are really cool guys. I have seen them six times the first being at the warped tour the second at their
cd release party. The next couple times I saw them they were the opening band for reel big fish I saw the show two nights
in a row in Gainesville and the next night in St. Petersburg once with the spitvalves (also a great Florida ska band please
check them out).i also saw them play an amazing show with Flogging Molly and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. that was cool. also
hope to see the a couple more time at the beginning of the year.
The show is always crazy when they play some of my
favorite songs off of their album this wont hurt a bit such as the very popular danial larusso is going to fight and others
like p.d.c. and, drunkin rudies. This is one of the best releases in a long time (or at least since the spitvalves new album
entitled fine print at the bottom) the band has some great lyrics dealing with everything from allergies to the karate kid.
The vocals blend nicely with the sound of the clean tone and catchy horns. Some may say that they sound to swing but this
is really some super ska. If the trend in sales and shows plus the rise in fanbase keeps up this band may even cross over
into mainstream.. no Im sorry for saying that but all you kids keep supporting the scene and we will take over someday. Check

Know How, The Played on the Stage Not Known. |
Coming together in the fall of 1998, The Know How is an eight-piece ska sensation from the musically talented sunny
city of Gainesville, Florida. In March of 1999, the band self-produced and recorded a demo CD, and in September of 2000, they
scoured together all their pennies to self-record and produce their first full length, entitled This Wont Hurt A Bit. The
CD was extremely successful for The Know How, selling over 1000 copies upon its first two weeks of being released. The group
then began extensive touring, opening for such well-known acts as Flogging Molly, The Ataris, Reel Big Fish, the Mighty Mighty
Boss Tones, and fellow Gainesvillians Less than Jake. The Know How scored some dates on both the 2000 and 2001 Warped Tours,
gaining them not only a huge following locally, but nation wide. However, the eight dont let the fact that they love to rock
get in their way; although performing music is a top priority, they still attend college and work on the side.
The band recently put out their second full length in 2002 on Minor League Records, HappyFunRobotKillTime. The album was engineered
and produced with the help of Less Than Jake's Derron Mars and Grammy winning engineer Ronny Cates. The Know How can be found
touring the East coast of the states this summer, before hitting seven Warped Tour dates in August. Check out www.theknowhow.com
