All I can say is that I've gone to many of their shows and each have been spectacular. This hard working Indie
band is also a group of the nicest guys I've ever met. It's too bad that they're breaking up after this tour, but to
get their cd would be a joyous occasion. "Gives a Damn" is a wonderful compilation of songs that fans have come to love
from this ecclectic-off sounding band. The lead singer has a wonderfully high voice that loops you in and out of his
harmonies with a symposium of an emotional roller coaster ride, and then energy as he bursts out in songs such as 200k Denial
Run and my other favorite, Like to Rock. The cd even breaks things up with a steel drum that makes a pleasant atmosphere
just in time to blow you away with the last song's lyric that happens to give me the chills : "They say I'm blind, but
I stare anyway! They say I'm blind, but I stare anyway!" I'm so happy with this cd that I've played through it
several times, and I hope you will seek out this rare find as well if you aren't lucky enough to catch them on their final
tour or with two members of the band Rick Derris.
LOYAL FRISBY Gives a Damn is now available by mail order, and with credit card at Interpunk
..rickderrisrecords..
Rick Derris is no longer a band, and will now be known as Rick Derris Records. Mainly a distro, RDR gives it's
services ala Eric, to local bands providing services such as online distribution and some broader promotion.

This is one of the most talented upcoming bands that I've seen for a long time. I expect that once these four boys
(If you include their mixmaster T), will become a nationwide phenomenon as soon as they can get their first cd project completed.
With a wide plethora of styles, Folk-Hop, Emo, and Rap, then even getting into Techno with a new song called Helicopter, it's
hard to believe that these college kids can't do any style of music. So far their shows have been amusing, as fans have
put it, and their value goes far beyond the shock value of when they first did a show at Java-Joint. Now I'll finish
this shameless promotion by telling you that you can order their cd, a six song ep including I Pity Da Foo and Fraggle's Rock,
for only Five dollars...got that, Dollar sign$ Five 5 dollars. So check it out at their web site... that you may have
just come from.
..denissonmarrs..
I was surprised that after two sub-par bands playing at the TAB in Melbourne, FL, that Denison Marrs would turn out to
be such a wonderful band. Mixing the sounds of Radiohead and any Indie Rock group with the images of an almost Jim Morrison
like singer, I was amazed at how interesting this show turned out to be. Though I haven't listened to their cd, news
on the street (from a girl named Amanda) is that these guys are gonna go somewhere. I read on their site that they're
doing some extensive touring as well and they plan on having a cd out soon, so I suggest that you check these guys out.
They seem to be touring all over this year, so get ready and check out their schedule at: www.denisonmarrs.com
..saintclaire..
I have the duty of telling you about this band called by the name of Saint Claire. I had heard from friend that
these guys weren't too bad a band and that I should check them out. I got to their show recently and they were the second
band playing. It's funny though, that they came on in a seemingly drunk style and started playing a hard punk that was
interesting, but you could tell that the crowd was more of a middle-class punk. You know, those youngones that are giving
more fashion tips in the mosh pit than fists. Anyways, Saint Claire, rather than just playing a good show...began to
make fun of the crowds bobbing heads and then the lead singer forgot the words to one of his songs. Don't get me wrong...I
love nasty punk guys, but for some reason I got some bad vibes from these guys and I'm hoping that it was just an off night
for them.
...news... Saint Claire played their last show at the Lineupless Extraveganza
and was reviewed on Loyal Frisby's website here.

Honestly, I was quite surprised by the talent present in Boys to War. These Indie sounding 'boys' tend to have
an energetic edge and play with a lot of emotion. I appreciated their enthusiasm for their music and I see them going
places if they refine their sound a bit and put together a solid show. I also had the chance to sample a free demo with
two of their songs. It almost sounded like a live recording and a bit like a younger Squeaky (a band based in Gainsville
that sounds a bit like Loyal Frisby - anyways). I suggest seeing these guys play whenever they're opening, and sometime
in the future they may spring up into their own tour...after all, they did have a really nice T-shirt!
..dashboardconfessional..
Okay, I admit that I tend to be an emo kid...and I do enjoy listening to Chris on occasion. Okay, often, and alot.
But that doesn't make a good show. I did enjoy the music and I definately appreciated the audience singing along with
every word...but there was something that bothered me. Perhaps I've just been a part of the Indie scene too long - with
their almost rabid energy at times, and I just couldn't connect with DC this time around. Chris switched guitars for
just about every song and the light show, and the band were spectacular. The only thing that seemed to be missing was
energy...and I guess I just didn't get caught up as much as I thought I would. Definately an excellent band...but more
like watermelon...it looks good, but kinda watery in the shows section.
..yellowcard..
YellowCard actually wasn't the reason I came to this show with my good friend Jordan of Flagler College Radio.
I actually enjoyed their opening acts with great extents, The Lawrence Arms being a standout, but it's obvious that YellowCard
(hailing from Jacksonville) is a very refined Punk Pop band that works hard at making good music. The most standout
part of YC's performance tended to be the antics of the bald headed violinist, Sean. I was amazed and surprised that
a punk(ish) band could incorperate such a beautiful instrument into their lineup and it really made the show something different.
With plenty of high energy antics, from kicks, to back flips...I'll tell you that this was a good show and worth checking
out...if you like this kind of music.
..thelawrencearms..
Bren, Neil, and Chris make up a trio of mastered attitude. Lots of beer, lots of spitting, and a middle finger
or two...mixed with amazing music, and hailing from Chicago, this band really caught my eye. First of all, I would like
to congragulate these guys on their stage presence. You insulted the audience without them even knowing...and I don't
think I can give respect for that, but it was very intellegently done...I'm not sure how that works. All I can say from then
on is that this is a punk rock trio...they have lots of energy and use it well while mixing several styles of rock into one.
Check these guys out if you don't get offended easily, I don't think you'll be dissapointed.
..blindside..
Blindside is Sweden's answer to P.O.D, and they happen to be the best of friends. Ever since POD called on Blindside
to do their Youth of the Nation Tour, it seems like the two have become unionized as a hardcore duo. It's funny however,
that Blindside is much more hardcore than POD, at least in their current form. With Payable on Death turning more and
more into a U2 like hybrid creature and a huge international influence, it's nice to see that they aren't taking their
clout for granted. Now, for Blindside...I can honestly tell you that this concert was stellar. Hair flying, three
mosh pits blairing, and all the fixings for a hardcore feast. I've rarely heard such a beautiful hard voice as
that of lead singer and song writer Christiansen Lindskog. The show was packed with amazing energy and I don't know
if I was really standing when the moshing ended...it was amazing. I even heard a story of the bassist Tomas, tripping
on a cord and still playing while on the ground as the rest of the band just laughed. I suggest that all fans of hard
music check this band out at one of these two sites and check out their tours before they become too big to be a part of.
..normajean..
Norma Jean, a hardcore band that pretty much blows your socks off right away.
I enjoyed the visage of two guitarists on either side thrashing their heads about as the lead singer climbed the
metal towers on the right side of the stage. The audience seemed to know the songs as well which added to the overall
experience. Unfortunately for the bands though, the fuses kept breaking and the lights and instruments periodically
went out. The electricity of THE BRIDGE in Manchester, NH just wasn't made for such things as hardcore fests, I suppose.
I'll never forget the little stage that these thrashers dealt with, and in an awesome fashion of hair flying, and chains rolling.
In such a small place, I give two Kudos to the lead singer who jumped with blind faith into the audience head first (and was
caught miraculously in such a small crowd). This is a show that's worth checking out. Go to their tour book
and find out when they get near you as soon as possible.
..mewithoutyou..
MWY was awesome with the lead singer,Aaron Weiss, screamin out the lyrics in a Radiohead
Fugazi mesh that made me want to do something besides put the microphone stand back up when the he contorted in
a twist of fate, falling into the audience. It was nuts with lots of pedals and great outfits. MWY
wore black suit jackets with purple suit pants. I was impressed by their music and their overall style. This
band, with all it's energy and crazy finesse, is just starting to become a small phenomenon. I suggest you
check them out at Tooth and Nail Records, and get a glimpse of a band that has lots of Indie/emo flair!
